2024 Membership Programs

We’re thinking that there’s never been a year in Historical Society History quite like 2023, including the purchase of the historic Canada Hose House, the biggest Heritage Day crowd in many years and the growth of our fun Gatsby Gala at the Whiting House Museum.

The best is yet to come as 2024 takes shape.  We’ve learned that bringing history alive is as much fun behind the scenes as it is for the folks who attend our programs, we welcome your continued participation or new interest as be more toward an existing new year of programs and projects.

NEW GIVING PROGRAMS

As your Historical Society works hard to reestablish the foundations on which our education and preservation missions were established back in 1937, we are building toward a sustainable future for our organization.

STEWARDSHIP FUND

This new program is accepting donations directly into our endowment program managed for ACHS by Boggs and Company through LPL Financial. This fund has been in existence for over two decades since it was created by a founding gift from F. Brooke Whiting Jr. Gifts to this fund are well suited to the significant purpose of sustaining the Historical Society for the future.

PROGRAM FUND

Your Historical Society has made major strides on improving both the quality and quantity our educational and social programming at all four of our facilities. Contributions to the fund remit directly to the ACHS Operating Fund to support our community programs.

DISCOVERY FUND

With the purchase of the Canada Hose House and Blue Spring on North Mechanic Street last May, the Historical Society deepened our commitment to study and publicize Allegany County’s rich colonial and Revolutionary Era. Contributions to the fund remit directly to the ACHS Operating Fund to support historical research and interpretation.

THE FOUNDERS FUND

ACHS continues to make capital improvements at the History Discovery Center at 400 North Mechanic Street and we are still accepting founding contributions that are will be recognized at the completion of the projects.
